History

In Sicilian families, it has always been customary to start the day by opening the windows and the traditional wooden shutters to let in the fresh morning air and the strong light that defines our land’s atmosphere. The brightest rooms, overlooking the main street, were called “solerate” in Sicilian because they were located on the upper floor—sunnier and better exposed than the others. In “Solerata” at Dimora SIQU, you can relive this ancient Sicilian tradition.

Spacious Interiors

“Solerata” was designed as the most modern room in the house, imagined as the space for the son returning home from his studies abroad during the holidays. The large vaulted room is furnished with deep blue armchairs reminiscent of the sea, a modern interpretation of a grand canopy bed, and a distinctive iron structure—custom designed by SIQU’s architects—that houses the shower and walk-in wardrobe, defining the path that leads to the comfortable bathroom.

Sicilian Residences

“La Solerata” overlooks a wide street and features a balcony typical of Sicilian homes, allowing natural light to flood the room throughout the day. The 32 cm Dorelan mattress with a 6 cm topper, combined with Rivolta Carmignani cotton percale sheets, ensures a comfortable and restful sleep. 600g Rivolta Carmignani cotton towels will wrap you in softness, while Ortigia Sicilia beauty products offer the scents of this splendid land.

The bright “Solerata” room is classified as a Deluxe Double Room with balcony.
